In Ukraine was developed and patented the geotechnology of obtaining hydrogen by underground gasification of different grades of coal (UGG). Resulting product - synthesis gas - contains 47,9 vol % of hydrogen. After purification it gives 97-99% hydrogen. One ton of coal gives 40kg of hydrogen, with an estimated cost 0.5$ per 1kg of hydrogen.

Scientific industrial firm «Bear»is the sustainable member of Ukrainian Technological Academy (UTA). The main kind of their innovative activity is the development of geotechnology for the fossil fuels extraction from the depths of the Earth.
They have developed and patented in Ukraine and Russia the geotechnology of obtaining hydrogen by underground gasification (UGG) of different grades of coal. The result of the UGG is a synthesis gas following average composition (% vol.): H2 = 47,9; CO = 49,2; H2O = 0,5; CO2 = 0,6. After purification of synthesis gas from impurities it gets 97-99% pure hydrogen, the composition of the remaining gas after purification CO = 97,8%; H2O = 1,0%; CO2 = 1,2%. From one ton of coal we can obtain 40kg of hydrogen, with an estimated cost 0.5$ per 1kg of hydrogen.
Ukraine has huge reserves of coal which are suitable for our technology.
Functions that company "Bear" can perform about the task associated with the number of actions required to produce hydrogen by underground coal gasification (UGG):
a) determination of the suitability of fields (areas) of brown coal for underground gasification;
b) adaptation of our technology for the selected area;
c) development of technical and economical explanation of the underground coal gasification in relation to the selected area;
d) consulting the design and supporting construction of enterprises of underground coal gasification.
"Bear" will offer a mutually beneficial cooperation in improving the environmental situation in Ukraine.
